Today I am 27 weeks pregnant, and this month has been off to a rough start.
Paul and I had to deal with a leaking kitchen ceiling this week. Our new upstairs neighbours like to take a lot of showers and baths, and because of that our ceiling started raining down used bathwater onto our stove. I'm very glad that I wasn't cooking anything when it was happening!
I have found that our landlord is very 'hands off' in this situation, meaning it took 2 days for him to come with a plumber to take a look at it, and then 2 more days for it to actually get 'fixed'. The landlord hasn't even come to check out the work! My dad had to do the work (don't worry, he's a retired plumber) because the plumber that my landlord hired was MIA when it was time to come back to fix the leak. The leak still isn't 100% fixed either, since it still drips a little. There is also a hole in the ceiling above the stove that leaves us with fallen plaster bits on the stove top every so often.
We are still waiting for our landlord to come back with some sort of worker to fix the hole in the ceiling. It's been a very eventful first few weeks of moving to the main floor of this house, and I hope it calms down by the time baby Mabel is born.
Anyways, there is better news!
I am 27 weeks pregnant today. Mabel is a healthy and active little baby. She has been kicking me very low in my tummy for the past week or so, and it's been uncomfortable to say the least. I'm glad to know she is doing well though! I've also been craving fried chicken a lot. I'm not sure what that means, but I've been eating it and it's delicious.
Today, we are also going to IKEA to buy a new couch! We've been talking about replacing our old couch for a few months now, and today we are finally doing it. Our old couch was a faux leather material that our cat started using as a scratching post (even though she already has 2 of her own). She even scratched it so much that she opened up both sides and was able to climb inside of the couch! I had to use duct tape to seal the holes because I didn't want the kitty to use it as a litter box or something like that. So, we're getting a new couch. Fabric this time because it's easier to take care of. If kitty puts a few claw marks on the new couch, we can use a fabric shaver to smooth it out and make it look like new.
That's pretty much everything that's been going on with us.
Lots going on, and lots of things to do.
91 days to go until we meet our baby girl!
